Polocrosse Australia honoured grassroots club level sports on Saturday afternoon after they announced the 2024 World Cup team at the Chinchilla Polocrosse Carnival.
“There’s no better place to make this announcement given we’re 12 months out
from our Australian Polocrosse Nationals – set to be hosted by Chinchilla Polocrosse
Club in 2024,” Polocrosse Australia President Mick Templeton said.
“You can’t finish what you don’t start, and grassroots Club polocrosse is where the
representative polocrosse journey begins.
“And giving players the opportunity to be part of this announcement, is inspiring, it’s
encouraging and it’s our way of giving back to Club polocrosse.”
Australia’s 2024 World Cup Polocrosse team will comprise of eight players - four men
and four women.
Australia is the reigning World Cup champion after three consecutive wins stemming from when they defeated South Africa in 2019 Warwick, Queensland
The win saw Australia become the first country to win the Polocrosse World Cup trophy three times, with players already setting their sights on claiming their fourth win on South African soil next year.
