Multiple fire crews react swiftly to contain twin blazes

Multiple emergency crews were called to battle twin fires that sparked near Gladstone.

Five fire crews worked to control the large grass fire.

Queensland Fire Department crews reacted swiftly to contain a large glass fire sparked by a car on fire near Gladstone today Sunday.

A QFD spokesperson said five crews arrived on scene at Jefferis Road and Blaine Lane, Beecher about 3.30pm and were able to extinguish the car fire in 1o minutes.

All occupants of the car were able to exit the vehicle safely.

The firefighters had contained the grass fire by 4pm with one crew remaining on scene for damping down etc.
