A TEEN accused of mowing down and killing at least ten kangaroos and wallabies in his four-wheel drive vows to fight the charges.
Reedy Creek man Connor Berkrey, 18, was hit with a string of charges last month after the alleged attack on wildlife.
Berkrey fronted the Southport Magistrates Court for the first time on Wednesday, charged with serious animal cruelty, driving without due care and three counts of fraud.
He said outside court he plans to fight the charges.
Police allege Berkrey drove through Worongary between September 8 and September 10 intentionally killing or causing serious injury to animals.
His matter was adjourned and his bail has been extended.
Berkrey’s family were there to support the teenager and surrounded him as he left the courthouse.
A supporter said: “Leave him alone, he’s just an 18-year-old kid”.
A person outside the court yelled: “Oh mate you’re on camera now”.
His matter will return to court on November 10.
