Sizzler one of 30 Hyperdome tenants to stand the test of time
More than 30 of the original Hyperdome tenants are still there 30 years later. But one has remained a staunch a large part of the centre’s tapestry over the past 30 years is restaurant brand Sizzler.

MORE than 30 of the original brands which opened their doors in 1989 at the Hyperdome are still operating at the centre.
Coles, Best & Less, Prouds, QBD Bookshop and Lincraft are still serving customers in Logan.
But one tenant, Sizzler, has been staunch in its Logan base, standing the test of time even when other branches of its restaurant chain shut.
Sizzler Australia chief Donald Crilly said the restaurant had been part of many family gatherings.
“We pride ourselves on providing healthier options and the widest variety of products to suit any taste even the most fussiest of eaters,” he said.
“It gives us so much joy to be a part of the 30-year Hyperdome celebrations and even more reason to enjoy a slice of our famous cheese toast.”
The brand launched its first restaurant in 1958 in California, touted as a “self service budget steakhouse”, offering two types of steak, a small salad offer and bread rolls.
The US brand made its Australian debut in 1984, and five years later opened at the new Hyperdome.

Sizzler relocated its restaurant to Hyperdome’s Piazza, offering a much larger space for patrons. It is one of 11 Sizzlers nationally.
