Su’emai, who attends Marsden State High School, had an amazing championship winning both the under 18 discus and shot put.

She set a new Oceania area record in both events, smashing the previous discus mark of 49.80m in launching a throw of 52.92m, then set a new shot put record with a 16.77m throw.
Every time Su’emai goes to the field she seems to set new marks and her performance was a continuation of a golden period in her career.
Lara Roberts’ won her hammer with a throw of 58.43 while her twin brother Ben was also among the medals, claiming a silver medal after a 60.34m hammer effort.
The pair from Forestdale continued an amazing family tradition after older sister Alexandra represented Australia at both the world junior championships and the Youth Olympic Games.
Another Logan product, Sheldon College student Kalani Lang won silver in the 800 and gold in the 4x400m relay.
The middle distance runner is highly ranked by his coach Ben Norton from his On Track Running Club.
There were also multi medallist from Murray Watkins’ Fast Track Athletics Club where three sprinters excelled.
Cusworth did the gold double when he won the 110m and 400m hurdles while Elanoa North, representing Tonga, picked up two medals.

Nick Meek helped Australia win gold in the under 18 4x400 relay and won other medals.
The performance by the Logan athletes again highlighted the extraordinary sporting talent which prevails across all areas of sport in the city.
