Logan woman pleads for return of her dad’s boat stolen after he died

Heartless thieves have stolen a man’s boat the day after he died, and his family have offered a $1000 reward for its return.

A GRIEVING daughter has offered $1000 for the return of her father’s boat that was stolen hours after he died.

Lee said the boat had been parked at Boronia Heights up until it was stolen on the weekend.

She said her dad was suffering from terminal leukaemia before he passed away on Friday morning.

Within a day, someone stole his boat which was parked out the front of the house.

“So twelve hours after I sent him off in the hearse, somebody stole his boat,” she said.

“He loved that boat.”

The vessel was a project between Lee’s dad and her brother. and the pair and worked and fished on it together.

“Two weeks ago, dad had been away to my brother’s buck’s weekend at Somerset Dam where they’d had their last fishing trip,” she said.

“It’s devastating because my brother was going to take it. It’s crushed both of us, and it’s a kick in the guts that I didn’t need after my dad dying. My brother’s in America on his honeymoon and he’s had to cop the blow of being away while dad passed away as well as the only thing that dad was leaving to my brother was the boat.”

The boat also contained a new camp oven Lee had bought for her father.

“I didn’t really get time to grieve. The day was taken away from me because I spent half the day either on the phone to police or on Facebook trying to get it out there,” she said.

The boat seems to have vanished with no reported sightings.

“It’s just really really bad timing,” Lee said.
