Workplace Health and Safety are investigating after the death of a construction worker southwest of Brisbane.

Emergency services rushed to a man in his 30s at a worksite on Barracks Rd at Wacol about 6am on Thursday.

Paramedics assisted the man who had a medical episode at a Douglas Construction site, but he died at the scene.

A Queensland Police spokesman said police would prepare a report for the coroner following the “sudden non-suspicious” death of the man in Wacol.

A spokeswoman from Workplace Health and Safety Queensland confirmed there was an investigation under way.

“Workplace Health and Safety Queensland was notified of an incident at a Wacol construction site in the early hours of today,” she said.

“Inspectors attended the scene and are making inquiries. As this is a current investigation, there is no further comment at this time.”
