A Brisbane resident claims several cars have been “targeted” on an inner-city street with CCTV capturing a man keying the vehicles in broad daylight.

Woolloongabba resident Mick Brown claims the same cars have been “targeted” several times since September last year.

Police have since launched a public appeal for information to identify the man, who is believed to have also damaged a Ford Ranger on Bright Street in Kangaroo Point on November 19 last year.

Mr Brown said on September 29 an individual was captured on CCTV keying three vehicles parked on Hubert Street in Woolloongabba.

“This act cost myself and the owner of the other two vehicles in excess of $10,000 in repairs,” he said.

He described the man as a “regular, well-dressed elderly man”.

CCTV footage shows a man on a blue bicycle ride past the parked vehicles before returning 30 seconds later.

The man can be seen casually riding past the three parked cars with his arm extended.

The man is seen with his hand outstretched as he holds a sharp object close to the ute.

The man then flees the scene when another car is seen approaching from behind.

Mr Brown claims two of the three cars were targeted again on December 30 “causing thousands and thousands of dollars in damage”.

He then claims the man returned on May 5 and “repeated the act”.

“These attacks are happening in broad daylight,” he said.

“While these appear to be targeted attacks neither myself nor the other victim know or recognise this person.

“It is becoming quite distressing and this individual needs to be stopped.”

The man was described as "elderly" and can be seen holding a red lanyard with a piece of metal hanging off it.

Keying is when someone uses a sharp object such as a key to deliberately damage the paintwork on a car’s exterior.

Keying is a form of vandalism.

No charges have been laid over the spate of incidents.

Investigations are continuing.
