A man is on the run after he allegedly held up a service station armed with a gun, stealing cash south of Brisbane.

A man is on the run after he allegedly held up a service station armed with a gun, stealing cash south of Brisbane.

Police are investigating after the armed robbery at EG Ampol Woodridge on Kingston Road about 4.55am.

Preliminary investigations show the man wearing a hooded jacket attended the night window of the Kingston Road service station and indicated he had a firearm before demanding money from the two store attendants.

The 27-year-old female employee handed the man cash from the till through the window, before he fled on foot.

The man did not make it into the story.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police are asking for anyone with information about this incident or dash-camera footage in the vicinity of Kingston Road between 4.30am and 5.30am to come forward.

Investigations continue.
