A MAN accused of stabbing another man to death threatened to kill a witness if she said anything, a court has heard.

On day three of the trial into the murder of Brodie Smith, 21, Angela Sue Moutsatsos told the Brisbane Supreme Court the alleged killer appeared in a “better mood” following the incident.

Moutsatsos outlined for the court how she lured Mr Smith to a service station in Park Ridge, south of Brisbane, under the pretence of him selling the drug “ice” to her friend.

The mother of one has previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter for her role in the man’s death.

She said her friend, Ashley James Huston, 25, had planned to rob Mr Smith but it went wrong when Huston’s friend, Brian Stewart Krezic, 23, allegedly stabbed him.

After running a short distance up the road, Mr Smith succumbed to his injuries.

Huston and Krezic are both on trial for Mr Smith’s murder.

Telling the court how she was dropped off by the two accused moments before the incident, Moutsatsos became emotional, recounting a “long, loud” scream that turned into a gurgling sound. Then it went quiet, she said.

“(Krezic) was in a better mood when he got back in the car than before he left,” Moutsatsos told the court, explaining that the two men picked her up again moments after she heard the scream.

She said Krezic was bouncing around in his seat and smiling, while Huston was hitting the dashboard and steering wheel of his parent’s Holden Commodore.

He appeared to be nervous and agitated, she said.

“He f---ing stabbed him,” Moutsatsos said Huston told her. “I don’t know why – he just f---ing stabbed him.”

Moutsatsos alleged Krezic then turned around to her and said: “If you open your mouth, you’re next.”

Later, after dropping Krezic off at his home, Moutsatsos said Huston confessed to his father about the incident and decided to turn himself in to police.

Moutsatsos told the court Huston put a hand on her shoulder and said: “I’m sorry this happened. You have to be strong now.”

They then both left to hand themselves over to police, she said.

The trial continues.
