Extraordinary footage and audio of the events surrounding the Wieambilla massacre have been released as part of the marathon inquest underway in Brisbane.
The inquest is examining the murders of police officers Rachel McCrow and Matthew Arnold, good Samaritan Alan Dare and the shooting deaths of doomsday killers Nathaniel, Gareth and Stacey Train.
Here are all the exhibits presented in the first two weeks of the five-weeek inquest.
Alan Dare’s final moments
Neighbour Alan Dare filmed the last moments of his life when he went to inspect a car fire at the front gate of the Trains’ remote Wieambilla property. Shortly after this video ends, Mr Dare was fatally shot.
Officers walk directly into an ambush
Constables Randall Kirk, Keely Brough, McCrow and Arnold walked directly into the line of fire. They jumped the front gate of the Trains’ rural property and began walking down the long drive, with Const. Kirk saying “did you see there’s an arrest warrant for this fella” just seconds before a shot rang out.
Police officer flees under fire
Footage from Const. Kirk’s body cam shows him making two futile attempts to call for help before running for his life. He escapes but not before being shot in the hip.
Wieambilla widow’s heartbreaking triple-0 call
Audio of Kerry Dare’s triple-0 call as her husband, Alan, left to investigate gunshots and a fire lit at the Wieambilla property.
“Put your weapons down!”
Dramatic audio was released of a police negotiator’s relentless efforts to get the trio of conspiracy theorists to drop their weapons and surrender.
Intense final shoot out
Queensland Police Polair vision shows the terrifying police shoot out at the Trains’ house. Highly-trained SERT operatives are on scene in the helicopter, and more in the heavily armoured BearCat vehicle on the ground.
Police aerial and drive through
Aerial and video footage reveals the remote property where the Train lived and planned their attack on police and where the tragedy unfolded.
Images of terror
Rifles, camouflage gear, a shot-up SERT vehicle and burnt-out cars. These are some of the images shown at the inquest into the horrific Wieambilla massacre.
