The physiotherapist Zac Efron visited in Brisbane is a go-to pain guru who treats the bodies and voices of some of Australia’s biggest names in music and sport.

Jim Bostock, director of the Bostock Institute in the inner-Brisbane suburb of Bulimba, caused a stir yesterday after sharing a photo of the Hollywood actor visiting his clinic over the weekend.

Efron has been travelling Australia filming the second season of his Netflix series, Down to Earth with Zac Efron, and the show’s producer Darin Olien was also pictured visiting Bostock.

While the purpose of the discreet visit had to be kept under wraps, it can be revealed that Bostock was already in high demand in celebrity circles with a patient list including high profile athletes (thanks to an affiliation with Commonwealth Games and Swimming Australia), entertainers and singers in Australia and worldwide.

The University of Queensland graduate is a nerve release specialist who developed the Bostock Needle Technique, a method that uses dry needling to target nerve locks.

Bostock is particularly renowned for restoring singers’ voices with his Bostock Technique, having previously worked with singers and presenters including Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy, Tina Arena, Tony Robbins, Natalie Imbruglia, Kate Miller-Heidke and Troy Cassar-Daly.

“My treatment method helps people not live with pain or nerve issues, help muscle function return to 100 per cent and perform at its best especially after bad injuries,” Bostock said.

“I love working with entrepreneurs, touring artists, performers and athletes.”

He typically works with singers in high profile shows touring through Brisbane, such as Paulini Curuenavuli, Lucy Durack and Hugh Sheridan, who all have a demanding singing schedule.

The $349 vocal cord release treatment promises to eliminate and release all tension to the vocal cords and immediately reset the natural vocal sound, range and power.

While Efron was spotted flying into Brisbane on Saturday before visiting Bostock, he managed to keep a low profile during his visit to the River City, despite fans eagerly hoping to spot a glimpse of the Hollywood actor around town.
