Emergency services were called after midnight to assist after a recreational dive went wrong on one of the Whitsunday Islands.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said a call to respond to a scuba diving incident on Daydream Island came at 12.50am.
The RACQ CQ Rescue chopper was sent to treat a woman in her 30s who experienced complications after she went for a dive and “may have swallowed some water”.
A RACQ CQ Rescue spokeswoman said the woman had dived the day before and had experienced complications following the dive, with saltwater aspiration, chest pains and dizziness.
She was taken to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition.
This comes three days after a man drowned offshore of the Coral Sea Marina in Airlie Beach.
