Jungle Zoo Early Learning Centre
The Mandalay property at 2623 Shute Harbour Rd, home to Jungle Zoo Early Learning Centre, sold for $5.65m.
Burgess Rawson Queensland agent Adam Thomas brokered the sale of the 88-place childcare centre to Danlaucas in October.
The real estate listing stated the almost 10,000 sqm site turned over a net income of $397,735 per year plus GST with a 10-year lease to the early educator operator – headed by Whitsundays-based mother and daughter duo Michelle and Amy Collins – expiring in April 2032.
The property was formerly owned by Parkjade which paid $561,000 to buy it from Sea Horse in September 2020.
Danlaucas, based in NSW, also owns a child care centre at Eagleby in Logan which it purchased for $4.1m in October 2020.
Fawlty Tours – 4WD Tropical Rainforest Tour
The business Fawlty Tours – 4WD Tropical Rainforest Tour, which was offered for sale at $120,000 with a property in Jubilee Pocket, is “permanently closed” according to TripAdvisor.
Buying the three-bedroom home on the 1170 sqm property at 16 Kingfisher Tce last year was Janet Bennett and Richard Burnup, who paid $160,000 to take it off Stephen Roy Mitchell’s hands.
Arcade in Proserpine
Yaqing, directed by Chenglong Sun of Proserpine, is the new owner of six commercial tenancies at 38 Main St, paying $1.15m for the property last year.
Taylors Property Specialists agent Alex Swan stated it was the first time the Proserpine arcade had been for sale with the former owner deciding her age made it time “to finally divest from what has been an excellent investment”.
Mr Swan stated the tenancies attracted a gross income of $132,000 per year.
Flexihire Airlie Beach
Coogarah and Moorside Holdings outlaid $1.45m to purchase 1-5 McIntosh Dr in Cannonvale, the site of Flexihire Airlie Beach.
The 3680 sqm property had been owned by Dale Colleen Stanwix for almost six years prior.
Coogarah, based in Brisbane, and Moorside Holdings, based in NSW, also own commercial land which Flexihire operates on in Rockhampton, forking out $2.76m for the site in 2021.
Tropical Beach Waterfront Caravan Park
Paaka sold its caravan park at 25 Argyle St in Bowen for $3m in September.
The new owner of the 8446 sqm property right on the ocean is JBC Enterprises, directed by Benedict Malady of Cannonvale and Colin Crossley of NSW.
The Tropical Beach Waterfront Caravan Park, scoring an average of four-and-a-half stars on TripAdvisor, features tropical gardens, four-star waterfront cabins, villas, and caravan sites and is situated close to a golf course, boat ramp, and shopping centre.
Wisdom Cafe, Cold Rock and Harry’s Corner Cafe
Buying the property home to Wisdom Cafe, Cold Rock Ice Creamery Airlie Beach and Harry’s Corner Cafe was P and S Bell Nominees.
The company paid $3.3m in November for the commercial retail precinct at 6/273 Shute Harbour Rd in Airlie Beach, with Ray Whitsunday agent Brett Dwyer handling the sale.
Its former owner was Salinocturne which paid $777,500 for the 1984-built property back in August 1992.
P and S Bell Nominees, directed by Peter and Sally Bell of Cannon Valley, also own 387 sqm of commercial office space at Lot 3/20 Carlo Dr in Cannonvale for which it paid $820,000 in October 2022.
Little Vegas Burger and Bar, Dickie’s Dogs and Gelatissimo Airlie Beach
Now receiving more than $180,000 in rent per year from businesses including Little Vegas Burger and Bar, Dickie’s Dogs and Gelatissimo is Cutuli Property.
The company, directed by Alyssa and Michael Cutuli of Woodwark, bought the multi-tenanted property at 259 Shute Harbour Rd in Airlie Beach for $2.575m in August from Sns Developments4.
Along with the three main street shops, the sale included an upstairs bar, lounge and office space plus a one-bedroom apartment and three-lock up garages.
Ray White Whitsunday agent Brett Dwyer said the property also included development approval to build two residential units above the garages at the rear of the building which “would have an unobstructed view straight over Airlie Beach Lagoon and out onto the uniquely turquoise Coral Sea.”
Ford Dealership
BMBL snapped up the Fraser Ford dealership at 106 Main St in Proserpine for $1.4m in September.
The 5058 sqm premise had been owned by David James Fraser since June 1999.
BMBL – directed by Blake, Rebecca, Melissa and Matthew Bilby of Proserpine, Conway and Brisbane – also bought Tropic Car and Truck Rental at 15 Commerce Close in Cannonvale for $900,000 in the same year.
Fletch’s Butcher Shoppe
Collinsville-based A and K Brunker sold its shop at 35 Stanley St for $190,000 in August last year.
The new owners of Fletch’s Butcher Shoppe in Collinsville are Nicole and Curtis Maher.
Collinsville Motel
WLWZ Holding, directed by NSW-based Meiqin Li and Zhong Wang, bought the Collinsville Motel for $1.5m.
They paid $400,000 shy of the $1.9m listing price through Accommodation Business Brokers.
The 2268 sqm property, built just nine years ago, was formerly owned by Janda Corporation Australia.
The real estate listing stated the 25-unit motel boasted a 65 per cent occupancy and was a “favourite” for visitors to Collinsville.
Fruits n Rootz
Richard Towers Storie handed over his 43 sqm commercial building at Lot 10/370 Shute Harbour Rd in Airlie Beach for $650,000.
The annual rent of about $40,000 from tenant Fruits n Rootz will now go to Lisa Anne Hancock and Bryce Andrae Hay.
Angus Quality Butchers
Buying Angus Quality Butchers at 1/45 Gordon St in Bowen for $307,985 in December was A and J Lewis Super.
The company’s directors, Anthony and Joanne Lewis, are based in Townsville.
Its former owner Marondera Holdings, which owns a unit dwelling along Kennedy St in Bowen, paid $345,000 for the 1117 sqm property in April 2021.
Cartridge World Whitsunday, Wellness Centre Proserpine, Whitsunday Computers and Stationery
Waymark Hotels Properties No 4 paid $650,000 in October to snap up 70 Main St in Proserpine, a property home to Cartridge World Whitsunday, Wellness Centre Proserpine and Whitsunday Computers and Stationery.
The 620 sqm of commercial space had been owned by Garry Raymond Stewart since 2013.
Waymark Hotels, which is based in NSW, also snapped up nearby 74 Main St for $280,000 in October 2022 and the RSL Memorial Building around the corner at 27 Chapman St for $4.1m in July 2021.
Bowen Palms Caravan Park
Bowen Palms Caravan Park sold to Brisbane-based Leisure Lifestyle Villages for $2m in December after almost two years on the market.
The 4ha park at 18477 on the Bruce Highway had been owned by Bowen Palms which bought the property from Megan Jane Hogan for $1.4m in October 2011.
Perhaps a new owner could see a rejuvenation of the park with guest reviews on TripAdvisor describing it as dated and in need of an update.
Former Holden Dealership
Bowen Motorcycles offloaded its property at 29 Gregory St in Bowen for $250,000 in December.
The site was once home to the McDermott’s Holden dealership.
Buying the 673 sqm property zoned for outdoor sales was Foxsea Holdings, directed by Fergus McLean of Bowen.
Storage Sheds in Jubilee Pocket
Niningo Airlie Beach, a Brisbane-based company, outlaid $3.284m to purchase storage sheds at 3-5 Loop Rd in Jubilee Pocket.
Brokering the sale of the 7330 sqm block in December was Ray White Whitsunday agent Karen MacDonald.
The former owner was Loop Road Nominees which paid $1.4m for the property in January 2018.
Bowen Commercial Precinct
Survivor, a company based in South Australia, forked out $539,000 in October to buy the four shops at 126 Soldiers Rd in Bowen from Dragon Millenium.
Professionals Frank Sellars and Company agent Brendon Baker said the property was in a “prime position” and made the “ideal base” to grow a business or community organisation.
