A quiet residential street in Proserpine was the site of a bizarre drunken incident at the weekend.
Proserpine police allege an 18-year-old man walked into the middle of Fuljames Street on Sunday afternoon to stop a car, then headbutted one of its windows, then smashed another.
The driver of the vehicle, who called police for help about 4.30pm, was not known to the man.
Officer in charge Sergeant Mark Flynn said the alleged offender was “grossly intoxicated” at the time of the incident, and resisted and obstructed police as they arrested him at the scene.
The Proserpine man has been charged with wilful damage, public nuisance, and obstruct police.
He will appear at Proserpine Magistrates Court later this month.
