A MAN who allegedly smashed a beer bottle on a footpath in Airlie Beach is set to front court.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man from Redcliffe for public nuisance after he threw a beer bottle at the ground on November 6.
Whitsunday Police Acting Sergeant Jenine Gardel said the bottle was “thrown with force” in the Airlie Beach Safe Night Precinct, causing it to smash on the footpath.
The man was taken to the Whitsunday watch-house before being released on bail.
He will appear before Proserpine Magistrates Court.

On November 9, police pulled over a 22-year-old Cannonvale man driving on Shute Harbour Rd in Airlie Beach.
The man allegedly returned a breath test of 0.082 per cent and was issued a notice to appear in the Proserpine Magistrates Court.
On the same day, a 39-year-old woman from Jubilee Pocket was pulled over on Shute Harbour Rd near Cannonvale.
The woman allegedly returned blood alcohol reading of 0.072 per cent and was issued a notice to appear before Proserpine Magistrates Court.
