A Whitsunday cleaner who allegedly flashed members of the public at Proserpine park has been remanded in custody after a magistrate found an unacceptable risk of committing further offences.

Jamie Lee Brimble is accused of exposing his genitalia to two women at Spalla Park, while in possession of a used needle, on Wednesday, June 2.

The 33 year old was charged that day with possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a utensil, and wilful exposure, and released on bail under strict conditions including that he not attend the town of Proserpine.

He appeared in the dock at Proserpine Magistrates Court on Monday, June 7, after he was caught breaching his bail conditions by attending Proserpine on Friday, June 4.

His solicitor, Elizabeth Smith asked that her client be released on bail a second time while waiting for multiple matters to be finalised in court.

Ms Smith said Brimble had learning difficulties and did not understand his original bail conditions.

Taking into account Brimble’s history and personal circumstances, Magistrate Athol Kennedy said the accused “needs to stay in custody for his own sake”.

“Give him a few weeks and maybe that would short circuit it all,” Mr Kennedy said.

The charges were adjourned to June 28.
