Man dies in lawnmower rollover in Cannon Valley
A 56-year-old man has died in a horror tragedy after the lawnmower he was riding rolled and landed on top of him. The death has sparked a workplace health and safety investigation.

A man has died after he was critically injured in a ride-on lawnmower incident in the Whitsundays, sparking an an investigation by the workplace safety watchdog.
Paramedics responded to reports a ride on lawnmower had rolled down an embankment off Orchid Rd at Cannon Valley landing on top of the man on Wednesday, May 14.
Queensland Fire Department crews arrived on scene at 1.09pm to help free the man from below the lawnmower.
Police confirmed on Monday the 56-year-old Proserpine man tragically succumbed to his injuries in the Townsville Hospital on Thursday, May 15.
Inspector Glenn Cameron said police were assisting Workplace Health and Safety Queensland with preparing a report for the coroner.
A WHSQ spokeswoman confirmed the authority was continuing its investigation into the incident.
“No further comment can be made at this time,” she said.
Paramedics had initially assessed the man for potential spinal, wrist, and pelvic injuries and he was taken to Proserpine Hospital before being taken to Townsville Hospital where he sadly died his injuries.
