It’s been a long wait for KFC fans in the Whitsundays, but the Cannonvale store is officially up and pumping out the Colonel’s secret recipe.

The new KFC restaurant is located at 16 Paluma Rd, Cannonvale, near the corner of Shute Harbour Rd.

Darren Gunn and Drew Martin will share the responsibility of running the franchise, sharing the role of assistant restaurant manager. The company said it is the duo’s “first venture into the KFC family”.

KFC said the new store will bring 50 jobs to the region, helping employees “develop skills in customer service and teamwork”.

Despite opening to customers on Wednesday, June 12, the restaurant has a planned “grand opening” on July 6, where it will offer giveaways, competitions and discounted specials.
