AT THE eleventh hour on Wednesday, Whitsunday residents will pause to remember those who fought for their country.
Ceremonies will take place across the region in what will be one of the first major ceremonies for RSL groups since COVID lockdowns.
Here's your guide to Remembrance Day across the Whitsundays.
Bowen
The Bowen RSL will hold a service at their building in Williams St on Wednesday.
Guests have been asked to assemble at 10.45am for a traditional silence at 11am.
The bar will be open after the service with refreshments served by the Queensland Country Women's Association.
Airlie Beach
The Airlie Beach/Whitsunday RSL will hold a ceremony at the cenotaph on Beach Rd.
Guests should arrive at 10.30am for a service followed by a minute's silence at 11am.
Veterans will then head to Jubilee Pocket for some refreshments after the ceremony.
Proserpine
Members of the public are invited to the Proserpine RSL on Chapman St for a ceremony.
Guests should arrive at 10.30am and there will be a bugler followed by a minute's silence at 11am.
The ceremony will be held at the RSL this year as the cenotaph has been removed for refurbishment, with a new one set to be installed in time for Remembrance Day in 2021.
