RESIDENTS donned their spookiest attire in a bid to raise funds for a brave Cannonvale battler tackling a rare form of cancer.
BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort held its annual charity event, Camp and sCare, at the weekend where residents camped under the stars on Halloween.
This year’s sold-out event raised funds for Cannonvale youngster Elijah Deveigne who was diagnosed with a B lymphoblastic lymphoma at the end of last year.
Guests battled it out for the crown of spookiest cabin or campsite and donned some terrifying costumes for the glory of best dressed.
Pumpkin carving, crafts and Halloween movies were also on the agenda as guests dug deep to support the cause.
Money raised from site rentals, raffles and activities totalled $4290 set to go straight to the five-year-old fighter.
An extra $1700 was also raised through gold coin contributions at resort events, bringing the donation for the Deveigne family to $6000.
BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort marketing manager Tanya Cran said she was speaking to Elijah’s family about how the funds would be used to assist with his treatment.
“He is such a gorgeous, brave little boy and we just want to assist in any way we can to take the pressure off his family so they can concentrate on Elijah’s recovery,” she said.
“We really want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in making the weekend a great success.
