The Cove Restaurant, wedding venue in Bowen for sale after 16 years

A beachside restaurant that’s both a popular wedding venue and a town’s favourite Chinese place has hit the market after more than a decade of dishes overlooking the Coral Sea.

A popular restaurant and wedding venue is now for sale after more than a decade of business.

The Cove Restaurant looks out at the blue waters of Horseshoe Bay and has been one of Bowen’s favourite Chinese restaurants since 2008.

Attached to the Coral Cove Apartments, the restaurant has also played reception venue for weddings and various other events for up to 110 guests.

Husband and wife owners Tony Ming Zhong and Joyce Huang said they were keen to retire after 16 years running The Cove.

Both said they were happy they could pass it on to someone new as a “good business”.

“This is a beautiful place here .... I like this location and this town’s people are nice,” Mr Ming Zhong said.

“Everyone comes here ... it’s one of the iconic places,” Ms Huang said.

“Nothing wrong with this business, just getting old.”

Ms Huang said their children had grown up and were living in the city, the couple was planning to retire.

She pointed to online reviews from Bowen locals proclaiming it the “best restaurant in town”, something the real estate listing also highlights.

The Real Commercial listing describes the business as “the number 1 Business in town” and “more than just a restaurant”.
