Queenslanders will be watching the State of Origin decider on Wednesday night at pubs and clubs all across the river city, as venues bring rivals together to view the game.
Despite restricted capacity at venues statewide, Brisbane’s pubs and sports bars have brought out the maroon and blue decorations to celebrate the Suncorp Stadium decider.
Famous for its proximity to the stadium, celebrations at the Caxton Hotel will be greater than previously expected with eased restrictions coming into effect just in time for the big game, allowing one person per two square metres.

Caxton Hotel owner Ross Farquhar said the business had been inundated with bookings since last Wednesday’s State of Origin results meant this week would be the decider.
“It seems to be if you haven’t got a ticket to the game a lot of people like to be in Caxton Street and come to the Caxton Hotel to watch the game,” he said.
“With the change in numbers we can get a few more in.”
He said celebrations would span from the restaurant to the car park.
“When the game is on we’re clearing our restaurant. We’ve got about half a dozen TV’s down there so we’ll open them up as bars so there’s more room.”
Celebrations will be happening all across the river city, with Sporting Globe Chermside taking the celebration up a notch and serving burgers with red and blue buns.
In Kangaroo Point the Pineapple Hotel will be showing the full coverage of the game, while in Albion, Breakfast Creek Hotel will be a popular spot.
