Severe storms hit South East as dust storm hits Thargomindah
South East Queenslanders have come under fire from yet another severe thunderstorm delivering heavy rain and leaving 4000 homes without power, while strong winds have left a western community shrouded in red dust. SEE THE VIDEO

South East Queenslanders have been hit by more severe thunderstorms, with 52mm or rain falling in just 30 minutes in one community, and more than 4000 homes being left without power.
Meanwhile, southwest Queensland town has reportedly been hit by a major dust storm.
Thargomindah Station said it was hit by a cloud of red dust at 5pm.
Severe Weather Australia reported 93km/h winds at Thargomindah at 5:19pm.
At 9.18pm the Bureau cancelled its severe thunderstorm warning after more than 4000 homes in the Lockyer Valley and Ipswich City council areas were left without power.
Torrential rain hit parts of the southeast, with Thornton, west of Ipswich, receiving 52mm in just 30 minutes from 8pm.

A second warning was for the North West, Central West, Channel Country, Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Southeast Coast forecast districts was cancelled about 10.40pm.
