Hit-and-miss showers across South East Queensland are expected to ramp up into the long weekend.
Rainfall across the southern corner hasn‘t amounted to huge totals in the rain gauge across the week but Kimba Wong, from the Bureau of Meteorology, said there could be slightly heavier falls on the way.
A moist air mass streaming in from the ocean with onshore winds has brought the drizzly weather.
“That is set to continue for the next couple of days,” Ms Wong said.
“Each day it will be hit-and-miss showers and not necessarily across the wider South East but there will be a few showers around.
“So either lucky or unlucky if you get caught under one I suppose.”
A trough expected to move across South East Queensland on Saturday or Sunday could increase the likelihood of showers.
Ms Wong said residents could still expect less than 10mm in the gauge.
There will be more of a focus on the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, across areas of higher terrain.
Rain is expected to ease in the middle of next week.
