A man has been fined after he allegedly drove past warning signs into flood waters and had to be rescued.
Police allege the 23-year-old drove around “road closed” and “water over road” signs along Baralaba Woorabinda Rd at Alberta, west of Gladstone on Tuesday.

“The man then tried to navigate his vehicle across more than 100 metres of water that was approximately 2m deep with a strong current,” police said in a statement.
“The dual cab was quickly swept off the roadway and fortunately became wedged against trees a short distance away.”
The man and his dog then waited on the roof until help arrived before they were pulled from the water with their vehicle.
The man was issued with a $551 infringement notice for driving without due care and attention.
Police have reminded drivers that knowingly driving through flood waters is not only dangerous but an offence.
Deputy Commissioner Steve Gollschewski on Wednesday reiterated, “if it’s flooded, forget it.”
