Big falls have again been recorded across the state in the past 24 hours, with the weather bureau warning locals the flood threat has not yet passed.

Biloela scored 108.8mm in the 24 hours since 9am on Thursday, while Gladstone and Rockhampton got 34.6mm each in the same time frame.

In the Central Highlands - Coalfields district Rolleston recorded 46.6mm, while a whopping 66.4mm fell at Blackwater Airport in the past 24 hours.

Back east, the Wide Bay and Burnett recorded some good falls in the past 24 hours, including 85.2mm at Gayndah, 54.4mm in Maryborough and 43mm at Kingaroy.

While in the South East corner, a huge 71mm was recorded at Nambour, while 37.6mm was reported at Brisbane Airport and Beerburrum got 48.6mm.

A moderate flood warning remains in place for the Macintyre River and the Diamantina River while there are minor flood warning for the Dumaresq and Barcoo rivers, Bungil and Myall creeks and the Paroo River.

There are initial minor flood warnings for the Bulloo River and Upper Dawson River catchment and a flood watch for south-west and southern Queensland.

The wet weather is likely to stick around South East Queensland on Friday with more rainfall and thunderstorms expected throughout the day, although possibly less intense than yesterday’s downfall.

The concentration of most of yesterday’s rainfall was north of Brisbane and heading into the Sunshine Coast, according to Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Helen Reid.

The clouds should part just in time for the weekend with Ms Reid saying today should be the last day of soggy weather for the South East.

“By the time we get to tomorrow it will be a much clearer day and it’ll even be cooler in terms of air mass,” she said.
