The pain continues for staff, performers and audiences at QPAC with venues to remain closed for the moment.

All performances scheduled up to and including Sunday, March 13, are now cancelled or rescheduled due to flood impacts.

Veteran Aussie performer Rhonda Burchmore was looking forward to her first turn as a Parisian showgirl in Cafe de Paris this weekend but her show has now been postponed until April.

And families flocking to see Frozen are devastated they will have to wait to experience the Disney magic.

QPAC chief executive John Kotzas said flood damage to building services, access and operations remained an ongoing situation at QPAC.

“It’s a very difficult time for all businesses that have been affected,” Kotzas says.

“Our situation can be restored and I keep that in mind considering some people have lost their homes.

“It’s been a difficult time for the arts but we will be up and running soon. It will take some time. We’re all concerned for the individuals who have lost everything. For a long time we were the only theatre that was up and running and now we’re the only one closed.”

Meanwhile shows are now going ahead at Brisbane Powerhouse which is up and running and it is hoped QPAC wont be too far behind it.

Mr Kotzas said further assessment of flood damage and repairs was required.

All ticketholders for affected performances have been contacted by email with further information.

All Frozen the Musical ticketholders will be able to be transferred into performances later in the season and will be contacted directly by QTIX to secure new dates.

All ticketholders for Cabaret de Paris have automatically been moved to the rescheduled date of Saturday 16 April 2022.

Although the QTIX call centre has been relocated and is operational once again, QTIX staff are unable to take inbound calls at this time and will be focused on refunds and contacting impacted ticketholders to process transfers.

Ongoing general updates will be communicated via QPAC’s social media channels and website.

Any further impacts on performances will be communicated directly to affected ticketholders via email.
