Brisbane weather: More rain, cool change on the way

Rain and clouds will cover the southeast and southern regions as an inland trough moves towards the coast, bringing a cool change.

What is La Nina and how does it affect you?

This morning could spell the end of southeast Queensland’s sunny summer holiday, with rain and cooler weather on the way – and forecast to stay.

Tourists were again out in droves yesterday soaking up another perfect day, with big crowds on both coasts.

The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe weather warning last night as two storms rolled across the region.

One dumped just under 40mm of rain in 30 minutes at Conondale in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

While showers will fall right across the southeast today, the Gold Coast is expected to cop the worst of it tomorrow with 45mm.

The wet weather is likely to hang around until the end of the week before returning again to the region late next week.

Temperatures will meanwhile drop from the low 30s today to 26C tomorrow in the southeast as a cool change moves in.
