Brisbane weather: Heavy fog settles over city, warning of dangerous driving conditions

A heavy fog has settled over Brisbane this morning with motorists warned of dangerous driving conditions.

Brisbane motorists are this morning being warned of dangerous conditions due to a heavy fog that has settled over the city.

The Bureau of Meteorology issued the road weather alert just before 6am saying fog will bring about reduced visibility for motorists over the next few hours.

A BOM spokesman said the fog had been caused by clear skies and Tuesday’s light showers.

“Yesterday’s showers had a knock on effort to cause today’s fog as well as a light westerly airflow leading to a dew point,” he said

“It should mostly burn off and lift again by about 10am leading to mostly sunny conditions in the Brisbane area.”
