Queensland’s climate zones have been likened to those of various other countries using a classification system.

Queensland’s climate has been compared to those of multiple different countries using the Köppen climate classification system.

The Köppen climate classification system divides climates into five groups including tropical, arid, temperate, continental and polar.

A map posted to Reddit showcases Australian climate zones compared with those of various other countries their equivalent using the Köppen system.

Queensland was predominantly compared to southern Texas, which is described as warm and arid using the Köppen system.

Meanwhile, the Sahara Desert – arid and dry – covers most of the inland and western parts of Queensland.

Pockets in the state’s north have been compared with northern India and Thailand – both tropical – whereas the southeast had been compared to Louisiana, also tropical.
