A Capalaba woman has recalled the horrifying moment a teenage girl violently bashed an elderly woman on a TransLink bus on Tuesday morning.
In a video posted to TikTok, Vanessa Cossettini describes how her early morning commute turned into the bus ride from hell.
“This morning, I was catching the bus home and a woman, a young lady on the bus, was going absolutely mental, off her rocker,” Ms Cossettini said.
“An old lady started to get bashed by this woman, I ran to the bus and started yelling “open the door, open the door”, and the bus lady couldn't cause she wanted to keep the aggressive lady on the bus.
“The lady started to bleed, she was punching her from behind, pulling her hair, throwing her around and the Police had been called at this time.”
In the video, Ms Cossettini, who is wearing a bandage on her eyebrow, shakily describes the moment the young girl turned on her.
“Then she started coming at me,” she said.
“Thank you to the man who protected me and thank you to the security guard who finally got there and to the Police officer who put her in the back of the car.
“I've got a little bit of footage of it, cause I was too scared and I was running away.”
In the footage captured the young girl can be seen surrounded by security guards before she spots Ms Cossettini filming her and runs at her.
“You too you little ska*k, lucky I don’t come to you and rush you,” the girl said.
Police have confirmed a 15-year-old woman has been charged with one count of serious assault of a person over 60-years-old and one count of assault occasioning bodily harm while armed.
The elderly woman was transported to Mater Hospital by paramedics with serious head wounds.
A TransLink spokesman confirmed they were aware of the incident.
“TransLink is aware of an incident this morning at the Capalaba interchange,” they said.
“The incident is subject to a Queensland Police Service investigation and Translink’s delivery partner Transdev will assist where possible.”
The juvenile is due to appear before Cleveland Children’s Court on Wednesday. She has been refused bail.
