Two drivers are lucky to be alive after one car crossed to the opposite side of a major Queensland highway.

Shocking dashcam footage has emerged of a ute crossing onto the opposite side of a major highway, before slamming into another vehicle.

Somehow both drivers miraculously escaped uninjured.

Footage from a following car posted to Dash Cam Owners Australia, shows a Ute travelling on the Cunningham Highway in Blackstone when a Toyota Yaris slams into the ute from the side, sending debris flying and the car spinning out of control.Praised for their smart manoeuvres and lightning quick reactions, the Ute eventually stops by the guard rail, with the Yaris narrowly missing other oncoming cars.

With almost 2 million views and 12,000 likes, many were quick to comment on how lucky both drivers were.

“F**k, that hilux is lucky as hell to of manoeuvred like he did and end up like he did,” one user said.

“Geezus, ute managed to even keep his headlights. Would’ve hurt, but what a save,” another said.

The driver who submitted the footage also commented on their luck, saying “Wow, I dodged a bullet, not even a scratch on my ute from the flying debris”.

Police have confirmed they are investigating the two-vehicle crash.

“Initial investigations indicate at approximately 5.15am, a Toyota Yaris was travelling west along the Cunningham Highway when it crossed onto the opposite side of the road and struck a utility, travelling east.

“The driver of the utility, a 54-year-old Churchill man, was not physically injured.

“The driver of the Yaris, a 23-year-old Collingwood Park woman, was not physically injured, and is continuing to assist police with enquiries,” a spokesperson said.

Witnesses, or anyone with relevant vision, are urged to contact police.
