The first weekend of Warwick’s Jumpers and Jazz in July festival is shaping up to be huge, with a bumper line-up of events locked in across the region.

Head to the main street to check out more than 300 vintage cars at the Grand Automobile Show, or take part in an arts workshop – all while listening to some smooth jazz tunes, of course.

GRAND AUTOMOBILE SHOW

Warwick’s Palmerin Street will be closed off to traffic to make way for the Grand Automobile Show, which will bring more than 300 vintage cars to town for a one-day display.

Catch some awesome live performances from Donna Hourigan and the Turnaround, Dezzie D and the Stingrayz, and Slips and the FWs while you browse.

JAZZ MEETS HISTORY

Allora Historical Society has a jazz-era clothing display on show. You will also find some delicious country cooking and arts and crafts for sale.

WHERE: Allora Historical Society Museum, Allora

WHEN: 9am – 3pm

COST: $5 (under 14 free)

POP-UP ART GALLERY

A pop-up art gallery in St Mark’s Parish Hall will transform the heritage building into a bustling arts display.

Check out the original artworks and handicraft from both experienced and emerging artists, and enjoy a morning tea or lunch break at the on-site cafe.

ALL ABOARD

Residents and visitors alike can take a tour of the area this weekend with Southern Downs Steam Railway offering various journeys across the region.

Choose from a round trip out to Hendon in the morning, or journey to Wheatvale in the afternoon.

PAINT IT BLUE

Join renowned artist Annette Raff to learn how to create stunning cyanotype prints in shades of blue, using plant materials and the sun.

WALKING TOUR

Join Warwick Art Gallery director Karina Devine for a guided tour of the festivals famous tree jumper exhibition.

Explore the Rose City’s main streets and take in both the colourful creations and smooth jazz tunes performed at various stages along Palmerin Street.

COST: Gold coin donation

COCKTAIL CABARET

Embrace the Jumpers and Jazz spirit with a three-course meal and cocktails while taking in a live performance from Body and Soul.

The group will feature songs from music legends Ella Fitzgerald and Astrud Gilberto.

SOUP, STEW AND SWEETS

Wrap up the weekend and warm up on a cold winter’s night with a hearty meal and live music from Warwick band Witch Doctor.
