A magistrate was left stunned when reading the bizarre and cheeky way a Warwick woman breached a DVO against her by her ex-partner.
The woman – who cannot be named for legal reasons – pleaded guilty to one charge of contravening a domestic violence order on December 3.
The court was told the 33-year-old broke the order – which prevented contact – on the afternoon of October 18, when the woman came to police saying she needed to attend the address to get clothing from the residence that she was forbidden to go to.
However, police later found out the Warwick mother had already attended the address, speaking to the aggrieved at the front door. The court was told the man did not let her in, and she tried to push past him to gain entry.
The woman got into a brief argument before giving the man the finger, then pulling her pants down and mooning the man, before leaving.
Defence lawyer Sarah Campbell told the court the woman had been in anger management course.
Magistrate Virginia Sturgess failed to see the funny side of the strange offending, calling it “stupid” and “childish.”
The woman was revealed to have primarily drug charges on her criminal history, as well as a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.
“Merely attending there and having a conversation is breaching the order. Regardless of anything else I’m taking this opportunity to warn you, because patience will run out,” Ms Sturgess told the woman.
The woman was fined $600 with convictions recorded.
