A Warwick man’s body has been pulled from a vehicle submerged in floodwaters on a major route through the town. FULL DETAILS HERE.

A Warwick man’s body has been pulled from floodwaters on a busy route near the town CBD, reportedly bringing a search for the missing father to a tragic end.

It is understood police found the man inside a blue Volkswagen Polo submerged in floodwaters on Victoria St at about 4.30pm on Monday.

The body is believed to be Troy Hearnden, 31, who was reported missing at the beginning of last week.

Family and friends began the search for the Warwick father after he did not show up for work or contact anyone after about 7.30pm last Sunday evening.

Police launched an urgent appeal for information on the possible whereabouts of Mr Hearnden or his blue Volkswagen Polo after the disappearance was labelled “very out of character” for him.

The Warwick man is now the 13th person to have died during the state’s flood emergency over recent weeks.

It is not yet confirmed how long his body may have been in the vehicle.

The death comes less than 24 hours after a man in his 60s was killed when his car was swept off a crossing by floodwaters at Wondai in the South Burnett region.
