TOUCH: A try in extra time by Mitch Watson secured an 8-7 grand final victory for Brownlie Metre Eaters in the A-grade Warwick touch grand final on Wednesday night.

At halftime in the grand final, Live Action led 5-2.

Metre Eaters captain Harry Sullivan said his side came out with more energy in the second half.

"We lost the grand final last year and wanted to win this one,” he said.

Metre Eaters pulled back the margin to two behind, 7-5, and then levelled at 7-all.

The score was level for the last 10 minutes of the match.

Numbers were reduced to three a side for extra time.

Watson scored for Metre Eaters in the first set which meant Live Action had to score to stay in the game.

They failed to score and Metre Eaters won 8-7. Sam Broomfield won player of the final.

It was Broomhall's first touch premiership since he was part of two winning teams when living at Kingaroy.

"I was surprised to be named player of the match, I just do the hard yards up the middle and let the fancy players score the tries,” he said.
