SWIMMING: House spirit and competition were at its peak when Scots PGC students competed at their annual interclan swimming carnival.
For nonswimmers it was the opportunity to have some fun, while for others it was the chance to break longstanding school records.
Thriving on the competition, year 11 student Will Gilmore was eager to break records in his favoured events, freestyle and butterfly, which were set 12 years ago.
"I haven't broken any this morning," he said.
"The records were set by a fast swimmer, Max Ackermann, so I'm going to try my best to get as close as possible."
For year 12 student Caitlin Skaines, the school carnival was an opportunity to have fun before a weekend of competitive club racing.
"It's been good, I've done two races and the individual medley was a bit deadly," she said.
"There is some good competition - Shona (McFarland) is good fun to race.
"They're a lot more relaxed than club carnivals too."
