WARWICK Cowboys take on Souths today in a round one rematch, only they will not be wearing their normal attire.
The Cowboys will be among hundreds of grassroots footy clubs across Australia pulling on pink socks to support the McGrath Foundation and the Harvey Norman Women in League round.
The ball will even be pink with players using special-edition pink footballs for the match.
McGrath Foundation ambassador and director Tracy Bevan is thrilled by the support and enthusiasm of communities for the Harvey Norman Women in League round and hopes Pull On Your Socks will be bigger and pinker in 2012.
"We're always amazed by the incredible response we receive from the community," she said.
"We can't wait to see footy clubs across Australia in pink socks supporting the McGrath Foundation and celebrating women who contribute to the game.
"To date, we've been able to support over 12,000 families through the great work of our 73 McGrath breast care nurses.
"That's 11 more nurses than this time last year."
The Warwick Cowboys Rugby League Football Club has invited friends and family members to wear pink on the day and has arranged fund
raising activities at the home game against Brothers , including sales of pink football socks.
Club president Don Browne said there would also be auction and multi-draw raffles after the A-grade game to benefit Brendan McIvor.
"We have held other fundraisers and they have been a huge success," Browne said.
"Brendan was a tireless worker for the club in the early days and we do this for valued members of the club in their time of trouble and need."
