Drivers should expect reduced speed limits and longer travel times during the two-week period of work, which is designed to tackle a number of issues plaguing the troublesome road.

Road users travelling through Goomburra have been warned to expect delays while work is carried out to address flooding issues.

The work, which would see North Branch Road’s flooding and draining issues addressed, is planned for a two-week period next month.

A SDRC spokeswoman said local traffic will be directed by workers with a reduced speed limit enforced.

While the work is planned to take about a fortnight, SDRC said this would be “subject to change” and weather dependent.

““We also want to assure local residents in the area that we will do our best to minimise the delays and disruptions to their daily lives and they will still have access to and from their properties,” the spokeswoman said.

Work is expected to be carried out during standard construction hours: 6.30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
