Police are investigating the theft of a $100,000 machine and trailer that was taken from the side of the road.

Sometime overnight between August 8 and 9, a vacuum excavation trailer was stolen at the intersection of Canningvale Rd and Killarney-Warwick Rd.

The owner of the vehicle had pulled over and secured it before driving to Warwick in order to fix a rear tyre.

The dual axle trailer with Queensland registration 933UPY was locked on the side of the road when the offender or offenders struck.

Overnight, the thieves cut the locking mechanism and stolen the trailer.

Police believe it was likely that the stolen trailer travelled via Canningvale Rd or Warwick-Killarney Rd, with investigators appealing to the public for any dashcam footage or if they recognise seeing the pictured machine.

The theft comes a matter of weeks after a notable car dealership was broken into in the middle of the night, with property stolen.
Anyone with information related to the suspected vehicles can report crime information anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
