From break-ins to drugs and assault,more than 100 crimes have taken place on average in Warwick each month during the past quarter.
Data from the Queensland Police Force dated April 10, 2021 - July 9, 2021 has revealed that 338 offences occurred across the Rose City within that time period alone.
Property-related crime comprised more than a third of the town’s total with 140 theft, unlawful entry, and other property damage offences taking place.
Traffic violations and drug-related crime rounded out the major contributing categories, with 16 assault charges and 11 unlawful use of a motor vehicle also listed within the same time period.

The Warwick CBD remained the top location for crime throughout the past quarter.
Forty-eight crimes were reported in and around Rose City Shoppingworld alone, of which 33 were theft and another nine were good order offences.
Fewer crimes were reported in the surrounding streets the further they are from the centre of town, with only 17 of Warwick’s total 338 occurring outside residential or commercial areas.

The number of crimes reported in Warwick significantly increased throughout the three-month period.
Sixty-eight offences were committed in April, followed by 113 in May and 132 in June.
Another 25 crimes have already been listed since the beginning of July.
Offenders are far more likely to strike around midnight, 2pm, and 8pm than any other time of the day, with the hours between 2am and 7am reportedly the safest for Warwick residents.
