MEN in skirts will always draw a crowd, but coupled with a jig and pipes it’s guaranteed to be a show-stopper.
Warwick’s Heritage Highlander Pipe Band entertained Regency Park res-idents at the weekend.
While bagpiper Neil Burley said his musical tool was “like cradling a baby giraffe”, the crowd relished the haunting sound of Scotland.
“We sing, we dance and we play; we’re a talented bunch,” Mr Burley said.
The event could be one of the last at Regency Park’s current community hall, with the lifestyle village set to expand the facility to four times its current size next year.
Regency Park assistant manager Noo Shepherd said it was an exciting time, with residents invited to have their say.
“The plans are open for comment now. We hope to have the community centre drafted and the first works starting in June next year,” Ms Shepherd said.
“The current plans mean the centre will cater for 350 people for dinner, and will have a library, lounge area, stage for productions, theatre and billiard room.”
