DESPITE not being a fan of cycling, Nissan dealer principal Chris Murphy will buckle up his helmet and pedal 260km to help raise money for sick kids in the Nissan Ks 4 Country Kids bike ride next month.
The charity bike ride will raise much-needed funds for the Wonder Factory at the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane.
Mr Murphy said it was for a good cause.
"This is the second year I have taken part in the ride and it is one of the most rewarding things I have ever been involved in," he said.
At the Wonder Factory children can participate in arts, crafts, play computer games, have their face painted and meet new friends.
Due to severe burns, infectious diseases and respiratory conditions, some children are simply not well enough to visit the Wonder Factory.
Volunteers organise toys and games with these children in their wards.
Mr Murphy said he hoped to match last year's efforts.
"Last year we were able to raise over $200,000 from the ride," he said.
Nissan has donated a Nissan X-Trail 4X2 to be raffled and the tickets are on sale for $2 each from the Nissan dealership in Victoria St.
The cyclists will leave Dalby on August 24 and arrive in Chinchilla on August 26.
