WHAT a weekend it will be for Warwick and our economy.

The Warwick and District Dirt Bike Club will host 400 riders to a round of the KTM South Queensland Junior MX Series at Morgan Park this weekend.

It is more than a decade since the club hosted a junior round.

The action will be non-stop with 20 classes having an average of 20 riders.

There will be a maximum of 40 riders on the grid for any race at the track.

Riders will come from as far as Newcastle and Central Queensland.

While it is a junior series, adult riders will have some classes in which to compete.

So parents and children can all compete and for the fans, it is always free to watch the motocross.

Starc reminder

SOME friends agree totally with my suggestion that Mitchell Starc should be playing in the Test series in England.

One cricket fan suggested that the English would start thinking about short-pitched deliveries when their bowlers got a few in return from Starc.

Few more dedicated players have worn the green and gold as Peter Siddle but realistically if Starc is not good enough for the Test series, it is time we got a new group of Australian selectors.

One has to wonder how much influence coach Justin Langer and captain Tim Paine have on the selection of the team. The Ashes are for keeps and Steve Smith is unlikely to play in the Third Test.

This Saturday, the Wanderers touring party will play a game against Warwick in town.
