Dog owners are still waiting for word on when an off-leash park will reopen after it was damaged by floods in March.
The dog park in Queens Park was opened less than two years ago after residents petitioned Southern Downs Regional Council for a safe off-leash space.
Dog-owner Veronica Owens said she was eagerly anticipating the park’s reopening, as her border collie Mackenzie was now unable to run off-lead.
Ms Owens said she had taken her dog to Henry Joppich Park but the facilities did not compare to the Queens Park enclosure.
“Last time I went up there it wasn’t (maintained) and the dogs could get out of the gate,” she said.
The grass was long enough for Ms Owens to play hide and seek with her dog, she said.
Ms Owens said it was difficult not having somewhere to her dog to socialise.
“She just loves people.”
A council spokeswoman said they were waiting to receive quotes from fencing contractors.
“Council acknowledges that suppliers and contractors have a significant backlog of jobs following the flood,” she said.
“With unavoidable delays anticipated, council’s parks team has commenced preliminary works to remove damaged fencing and tidy the area in readiness.
“Barrier mesh fencing remains in place to keep the park closed until works are completed.”
The council could not confirm when the park was likely to reopen.
