A Warwick man accused of carrying out a 12-hour siege on the roof of a Warwick business has skipped out on his court sentence date.

Nathan Thomas Yeo is charged with 20 offences, including serious assault of police, threatening violence, unregulated high-risk activities, breaching bail, unlawful use of motor vehicles and dangerous and drug driving.

He is accused of carrying out the hours-long stand-off atop Tyrepower in October last year, which saw emergency services crew stationed outside the building from around 10.30am until 11pm, where a fire hose was reportedly used to assist in coaxing him down.

Police allege that during the siege the 29-year-old was armed with a knife and threatened violence, as negotiators and Mr Yeo’s loved ones and friends tried to persuade him to leave the roof.

Mr Yeo was taken into custody that evening.

The Warwick man is also accused of leading police on a pursuit earlier that same day, which ended with his gold Holden Commodore catching fire.

He was due to appear in Warwick Magistrates Court on Wednesday for sentencing but failed to appear.

Mr Yeo’s lawyer Matt Gemmell told the court his office had not had contact with Mr Yeo for some time, despite numerous attempts to track him down.

Mr Gemmell asked Magistrate Julian Noud for his office to be removed as Mr Yeo’s representation, due to the breakdown in communication.

The request was granted and a warrant was issued for Mr Yeo’s arrest.
