From drug drivers with meth and cocaine in their system to cannabis crops and more, see the full list of Southern Downs drug offenders sentenced in 2023 below.
CONVICTIONS RECORDED
• Farron Roy Winkworth
Winkworth was sentenced in Warwick District Court back in May after police uncovered his major drug operation.
The court was told during the sentence that Winkworth was motivated “purely by profit” and not to feed a drug habit of his own.
By March 2022, Winkworth was raking in tens of thousands of dollars, and had reached out to supply methamphetamine to clients.
Winkworth pleaded guilty to a total of 13 charges ranging from trafficking dangerous drugs, possessing and supplying dangerous drugs, possessing drug property and more.
He was sentenced to a jail term of two years, six months and was released immediately on parole.
• Thomas James Carlin
A Darling Downs man with a history of violence and drug charges was busted with drugs and weapons by police.
Thomas James Carlin pleaded guilty on November 29, 2023 via videolink from custody to one charge each of possessing drugs and drug utensils, possessing medicine without a prescription, and a failing to secure a weapon charge.
The 32-year-old was busted on July 28 with meth, diazepam without a prescription, two scales and a straw for drug use, with police noticing he had a gel blaster which he failed to store properly.
Carlin was sentenced to a cumulative six months imprisonment for the drug offences, and convicted and not further punished on other offences.
Parole eligibility was listed as 29 November, 2023.
• Chad Marsden McIntosh
The 44-year-old man was sentenced in Warwick Magistrates Court back in March, pleading guilty to possessing dangerous drugs, utensils and anything used in a crime, and possessing property suspected of being stolen.
He was fined $800.
• Simone Loree Alldridge
Caught drug driving for the second time, Simone Alldridge told the court back in March she had sought help for her cannabis problem.
The Warwick woman was found driving along Grafton St on Australia Day with the drug present in her system.
Alldridge pleaded guilty to drug driving, receiving a fine of $300 and was disqualified from driving for three months.
• Trevor Douglas Crookey
Sentenced on his fourth drug driving offence in March, Crookey was caught with cannabis in his system while driving on Wood St in Warwick.
He pleaded guilty to drug driving, fined $400 and was disqualified from driving for six months.
• Clinton James Bormolini
Bormolini tested positive for meth when he was stopped by Warwick police on Fitzroy St in October last year.
The court was told the 43-year-old Warwick plasterer had a “pretty appalling” traffic history.
He pleaded guilty in March to drug driving, receiving a fine of $200 and was disqualified from driving for three months.
• Peta Lee Holterman
Caught driving with both meth and cannabis in her system in January, Holterman told a Warwick magistrate she was “incredibly embarrassed” to be in court for the offending.
Holterman pleaded guilty in March to drug driving, receiving a fine of $300 and was disqualified from driving for one month.
• Matthew Mark Rouen
Rouen fronted Stanthorpe Magistrates Court in August, pleading guilty to driving while a relevant drug was present in his saliva.
The court was told Rouen had been charged with two previous drug drive offences within the past five years, which magistrate Virginia Sturgess advised would have an impact on the disqualification period handed down to him on this occasion.
He was fined $750 and given a licence disqualification period of six months.
Convictions were recorded.

• Rodney Evans
A Warwick man has been sentenced after a police raid uncovered a number of concerning items in his home, including a shotgun that was hidden under a mattress.
Rodney Evans pleaded guilty on December 18 to one charge of possessing a weapon (category M), two charges of possessing drugs, one charge of utensil possession and storing explosives without authority.
Warwick Magistrates Court was told that on October 24, police executed a search warrant on an address in the Rose City which found four boxes of ammunition, two glass pipes and a grinder, clip seal bags of cocaine and cannabis, as well as a double-barrel shotgun under a mattress.
Evans was slapped with a $1500 fine, with no convictions recorded.
• Joseph William McNally and Christian Alexander Hope
Two mates were sentenced alongside one another after being busted with amphetamines and used glass pipes while in the same car.
Joseph William McNally and Christian Alexander Hope were each found with speed during a traffic stop on February 15.
The men each pleaded guilty to possessing both dangerous drugs and used pipes in Warwick Magistrates Court in March.
They were each placed on a $300 good behaviour bond for three months and ordered to complete drug diversion. No convictions were recorded.
• Shannon Hutton
A Maryvale woman told a Warwick magistrate in March the exorbitant price of prescription cannabis was behind her decision to produce the drug in her backyard.
The court was told Shannon Hutton used cannabis to treat mental health conditions and it was “financially difficult” for her to maintain legally.
She was fined $800 and no conviction was recorded.
• Steven Paul Deans
Deans was sentenced in Warwick Magistrates Court in November after he tested positive to meth during a roadside drug test, with a police search uncovering he was in possession of amphetamine.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Chris Hutchins said police at the scene found 2g of a white powder hidden in his wallet.
Deans had no previous criminal history and pleaded guilty to possessing drugs and drug driving.
He was fined $400 and was disqualified from driving for one month.
No convictions were recorded.
• Shannon Daniel Griffin
Following a police raid of his Allora property in October, Griffin was sentenced in Warwick Magistrates Court in November on drug related offences.
The 42-year-old pleaded guilty to one charge each of producing dangerous drugs and possessing items used in the commission of crime.
Griffin received a $500 fine and no convictions were recorded.
• Charlotte Ariel McNaught
The aged care nurse was caught in October after Warwick police raided an address, finding “small amounts” of both cocaine and cannabis, as well as a water pipe used for drug consumption.
Magistrate Virginia Sturgess noted that the woman would be eligible for a drug diversion program, and released on a three month good behaviour reconnaissance valued at $500.
No convictions were recorded.
• Ricky Lee Look
The 22-year-old fronted Stanthorpe Magistrates Court in September, pleading guilty to driving while a relevant substance was present in his saliva and while on a provisional licence.
Look was fined $150 and given a licence suspension of three months.
No convictions were recorded.
• Christopher Lee Flanagan
Christopher Lee Flanagan faced Stanthorpe Magistrates Court in September where he pleaded guilty to driving while a relevant drug was present in his saliva on December 5, 2022.
Mr Flanagan was fined $150 and given the minimum licence suspension period of one month.
No convictions were recorded.
• Bianca Maree Clarkson
Sentenced in Warwick Magistrates Court back in March, Bianca Clarkson was caught driving on Pratten St with cannabis in her system, in August 2022.
Clarkson, a mother of one whose baby was born with a heart condition told the court of her previous battle with drug addiction, but had put a stop to her bad habits.
“For the first time in seven years I do not have an addiction. The only addiction I have is my child,” she said.
Clarkson was disqualified from driving for one month and was convicted and not further punished.
