Two men will remain in police custody after an "extremely violent crime" was committed in Warwick on Thursday, leaving two victims hospitalised with major head wounds.

Police allege Jason Cory Brackin, 30, of Warwick and 20-year-old Bailey Adam Dennison of Wilsonton broke into the Lyons St home around 4am, brandishing an axe and a knife.

The pair allegedly smashed in doors and broke furniture before turning their weapons on the two male residents.

The blunt side of the axe allegedly bashed against the first man's skull, causing him head wounds that were later treated in Warwick Hospital.

The second victim was allegedly slashed along the side of his face, exposing bone, and had to be transported to Toowoomba Hospital for surgery.

Police picked up Brackin and Dennison a few hours later at Fitzroy St.

The men have each been charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count each of dwelling with intent, wounding, assault occasioning bodily harm and stealing.

A legal representative for the men fronted Warwick Magistrates Court today seeking an adjournment to gather evidence.

Brackin's alleged actions were a violation of his parole so he is unable to request bail.

Dennison did not request bail.

Both men will remain in custody while their solicitors gather evidence for their hearing at District Court on December 9.
