Learner driver crashes into traffic light pole

The crash occurred at a busy Warwick intersection during peak traffic on Tuesday afternoon and caused extensive damage to the car.

A learner driver was lucky to escape without any injuries after crashing her car into a traffic light in Warwick on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the intersection of Albion and Wood Streets at 4.35pm on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said an 18-year-old female driver had crashed into a traffic pole causing extensive damage to the front bonnet.

An ambulance spokeswoman said both the driver and female passenger were uninjured.

The police spokesman said the incident was deemed an accident but were unable to specify how the driver came to hit the lights.

No charges or fines were imposed.

The 4WD was later towed away for repairs.
